About Me

I am an experienced, warm and down-to-earth counsellor who is confident that counselling can help change lives for the better. I am professionally qualified with experience in supporting adults and young people with a wide range of issues. Research to date has shown that the relationship between the counsellor and the client is the most important factor in counselling being effective, rather than any particular approach. This is why I aim to provide you with a safe, sincere and non-judgmental space to talk and the help you need to work out how to move forward in your life.

One of the main bodies overseeing the accreditation and registration of counsellors in the United Kingdom is the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am a BACP Registered Counsellor, which means I have met their criteria for qualified and experienced therapists and work in accordance with their ethical framework.

I have experience working with anxiety, OCD, social anxiety, depression, bereavement, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, general relationship problems, sexual abuse, low confidence and self-esteem.

I currently have a private practice in a comfortable and quiet location. My experience includes counselling adults privately and in community counselling services in Winchester and Bournemouth; working as a bereavement volunteer with CRUSE, the bereavement charity, and as a listening volunteer with the Samaritans. I also have 6 years of experience counselling young people (11-25) in school and the community with Andover & Dorset MIND, the mental health charity, and with a young people’s counselling service in the New Forest. My qualifications are:

  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Certificate in Online Counselling Skills
  • Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • Certificate in Counselling Young People
